A lady's body has been discovered close to a soccer pitch in Motherwell after being set on hearth.
The grim discovery was made by a passer-by within the Muirhead area of the North Lanarkshire city early on Saturday.
The park has been sealed off with a white tent erected on one of many pitches. It is understood the world is understood regionally as the 'Muirhead pitches'.
An onlooker stated a young lady found the physique, including: 'She was absolutely distraught.'
