A WOMAN was left "burning" and blistered after a mystery substance was thrown over her head in a horror assault inside a pub.
An unknown mixture left the victim with burns down her again, and brought about her hair to matt after the terrifying incident at The Golden Lion pub in Jay's Close, Basingstoke.
Cops confirmed the disturbing assault befell between 9.30pm and 10pm on Saturday, February 10, as the lady was making an attempt to go away the crowded pub.
Her skin was left blistered and reddened, with most of her hair having to be minimize off because of the matting.
The substance shouldn't be believed to be acid, in response to police.
Two men aged 48 and 53, each from Basingstoke, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily hurt with intent.
They have been launched on bail until Might 10.
A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary stated: "Officers are appealing for info after a lady sustained accidents when a substance was thrown at her in Basingstoke.
"At a while between 9.30pm and 10pm on Saturday a 52-year-old lady was at The Golden Lion pub in Jay's Close.
"As the lady walked by means of the pub she had a substance thrown in her hair and on her back.
"The substance prompted a burning sensation to her pores and skin and for her hair to matt. Work is ongoing to determine what the substance is however it isn't considered acid.
"There was a band enjoying in the pub on the time of the incident and it was very crowded.
"Have been you there? The lady was sporting a leopard print prime. Did you see her, or did you witness the incident? Did you're taking any pictures or video footage when you have been there? You might have caught the incident in your digital camera.
"The lady has been left extraordinarily distressed by what happened to her. She has suffered reddening to her pores and skin, blisters and needed to have most of her hair minimize off because of the matting.
"Two males aged 48 years and 53 years and each from Basingstoke, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent and have been launched on bail until Might 10."
