New International Olympic Committee president Kirsty Coventry is facing immediate calls to protect the women's category after securing a landslide election win. Double Olympic swimming champion Coventry was elected in the first round of voting on Thursday in Greece to become the first woman to lead the organisation. The 41-year-old Zimbabwean sports minister earned 49 of the 97 votes cast, with Spain's Juan Antonio Samaranch her closest challenger on 28.
