A New Zealand jockey has been handed a 10-year ban from competitions after a tribunal found that he had played a role in an illegal betting scheme that turned profits of nearly $2.55million. It came after racing stewards had also asked for a tougher sentence on the rider. According to reports from Racing.com, Lewis German, 25, was slapped with the penalty on Tuesday afternoon by the Victorian Racing Tribunal.
