'High Level Hoop Game' - 2-Time NBA All-Star Has Huge Praise For Jordin Canada's 19-Point Outing vs. Liberty to Reach WNBA Finals Brandon Taylor Sat, October 10, 2026 at 10:29 PM UTC · 2 min read About Our Ads Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Atlanta Dream point guard Jordin Canada stepped up to help the team defeat the New York Liberty and reach the WNBA Finals. As the Dream prepares for the championship series, Canada received praise from a multi-time NBA All-Star on social media.
Isaiah Thomas is a fan of Canada's game , saying, "I had my sons watching this game with me. Her pace changed the game in the 2nd half. Make or miss she put pressure on the defense EVERY time down. High level hoop game."
Thomas and Canada are similar in that they are undersized point guards who can still impact the game. Canada was spectacular in the Dream's 85-83 Game Three win over the Liberty.
She scored 19 and dished out 11 assists without a turnover, as the Dream completed a 3-0 series sweep against the Liberty. Canada has been a major piece of the Dream's run to the Finals, averaging 19.2 points and 8.8 assists per game in the playoffs, while shooting 51.6% from the field.
As Thomas noted, Canada's pace remains a major part of her game even as she has now entered her 30s. Canada has been one of the WNBA's best defensive guards since joining the league, earning multiple All-Defensive First Team selections.
However, the Dream have needed her scoring through the playoffs, especially with star Allisha Gray's status uncertain heading into the Finals as she's dealing with a finger injury.
The Dream hopes that Canada's production level remains steady to help stars Angel Reese and Rhyne Howard. While Reese may have manifested the team's WNBA Finals appearance, they face an extremely tough challenge against the Golden State Valkyries.
The Valkyries are widely considered the best defensive team in the WNBA, and Canada had mixed performances against them in the regular season. The Valkyries won all three regular-season games against the Dream.
Thomas praised Canada's pace and the pressure she puts on opposing defenses, though she had mixed offensive results against the Valkyries during the regular season.
While Canada scored 23 points against the Valkyries in their second regular-season matchup, she struggled offensively in the Dream's first and last meetings against them.
Canada has a lot of momentum heading into the Finals, and it appears Thomas will be watching and supporting her.
