This is because former Sabres goalie James Reimer has been placed on waivers by the New York Rangers, as reported by The Associated Press' Stephen Whyno .

Reimer signed a one-year contract with the Rangers late last month. Now, less than two weeks after signing with the Rangers, the former Sabres goalie has already been placed on waivers.

Reimer being placed on waivers come with Rangers goalie Joonas Korpisalo nearing his return from injury.

Reimer made one appearance for the Rangers on Oct. 26 against the Los Angeles Kings, and it was a nightmare. The former Sabres goalie allowed three goals on just eight shots in the first period before being pulled by the Blueshirts.

Reimer appeared in 22 games with the Sabres during the 2024-25 season. During them, he posted a 10-8-2 record, a .901 save percentage, and a 2.90 goals-against average.

This would be Reimer's lone season with the Sabres, as they opted not to re-sign him during the 2025 off-season.
