Adam Peaty was consoled by his loved ones in Paris shortly after missing out on the fourth gold medal of his Olympic career by the tiniest of margins. The 29-year-old from Uttoxeter had to settle for silver in the final of the men's 100m breaststroke as he finished 0.02 seconds behind Italy's Nicolo Martinenghi. Peaty - who had won this event in Rio and Tokyo, where he also picked up a gold medal in the 4×100m mixed medley - was seen hugging three-year-old son George in the stands shortly after Sunday's final.
