For Laviai Nielsen, this Olympic bronze medal felt as good as gold. The 25-year-old was part of the brilliant British quartet who finished third in last night's mixed 4x400 metres relay. And the podium place was a triumph over adversity for Nielsen, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis just two days before she flew to the last Olympics three years ago. The 400m runner admitted she 'did not accept' she had the condition at the time, even though her twin sister Lina - who runs in the 400m hurdles heats in Paris today – had suffered from it since she was 17.
