Matthew Hudson-Smith has secured silver for Team GB in the men's 400m final at the Paris Olympics after a fiercely contested race. The 29-year-old came into the contest at the Stade de France hotly tipped after assured displays in the semi-finals and heats. But after entering the final straight in first place, the finishing line just would not come soon enough for the runner and he was pipped at the last second by USA's Quincy Hall despite running a European record time of 43.
