Paul Scholes has claimed that Manchester United's performance in their Premier League opener against Fulham wasn't an improvement on last season. United secured a 1-0 win at Old Trafford, with new signing Joshua Zirkzee scoring the only goal of the game in the 87th minute. However, United legend Scholes wasn't especially impressed with the way in which Erik ten Hag's side performed. United showed a lack of consistency last season and finished in eighth place in the Premier League.
