I have seen some enormous dogs in my life, but this Tibetan Mastiff might actually require his own ZIP code. He’s a gigantic pile of reddish-brown and white fur sprawled across the living room floor, and I genuinely cannot figure out where the dog ends and the carpet begins. There are paws sticking out in approximately six different directions, enough fluff to stuff an entire furniture showroom, and a very happy man sitting on the floor enjoying every second of it.

The enormous Tibetan Mastiff named Wally is lying on his back with his belly exposed, looking like somebody dropped a bearskin rug in the middle of the room and accidentally brought it to life. His human is leaning over him, laughing and rubbing his belly while this magnificent beast soaks up the attention. The whole scene is so ridiculously sweet that I want to crawl right into that mountain of fur and take a nap.

The adorable moment was shared by @Babywallybear, and the text on the video reads, “He doesn’t know it but this memory of him would protect me from 1684826 dementors.”

For anyone unfamiliar with Harry Potter, dementors are terrifying creatures that drain happiness from people. And frankly, I think this giant fluffy dog could probably scare them off without even getting up.

The video shows the enormous pup sprawled across the floor while his human plays with him, and the size difference is hilarious. This is a full-grown man sitting next to a dog who looks like he could double as a king-size comforter.

Naturally, the comments are spectacular.

“Sir why does your area rug have feet!” one person asked.

Another viewer wrote, “he looks like he eats dementors for breakfast.”

Someone else declared, “if Hagrid was a dog that would be this dog.”

And my favorite might be the person who simply said, “sir, that’s a bear.”

I’m not entirely convinced they’re wrong.

Is a Tibetan Mastiff the Right Dog For You

As tempting as it might be to bring home a giant living teddy bear, Tibetan Mastiffs aren’t the right fit for every household.

These impressive dogs were originally bred to guard livestock and property in the Himalayan region, and they still have strong protective instincts.

Here are a few things to consider before adopting one:

Tibetan Mastiffs are enormous, powerful dogs that need plenty of room.

They’re independent thinkers and may not be eager to follow every command.

Their thick double coats require regular grooming, especially during seasonal shedding.

They’re naturally protective and need early socialization and consistent training.

They’re generally better suited to experienced dog families who understand guardian breeds.

Despite their imposing appearance, Tibetan Mastiffs can be deeply devoted to their families. They just need people who understand their personalities and can provide the right environment.

And judging by this giant sweetheart, they can also be pretty enthusiastic about belly rubs.

I still can’t get over the amount of fur on this dog. Imagine trying to vacuum after him!

Although if I had a Tibetan Mastiff this adorable, I’d probably just accept that my entire house was going to be covered in fluff forever.
