Nicolas Cage says he’s “a little bit homeless” right now.
A sinkhole erupted near the actor’s Malibu home in September.
Since then, he said he’s been “living in hotels.”
Nicolas Cage is providing an update on his current living situation after a huge sinkhole appeared near his Malibu home in September.
The Oscar-winning actor, 62, explained that he is currently “living in hotels” as he navigates the natural hazard, which impacted a portion of his $10.5 million residence.
“I’m currently a little bit homeless,” Cage revealed at a Los Angeles Comic Con panel on Oct. 31, per E! News. “Something happened to my house in Malibu, so I’m just sort of living in hotels.”

As a result, the National Treasure actor shared that he and his daughter, August, whom he shares with wife Riko Shibata, shifted their usual Halloween plans.
“I don’t have normal trick-or-treaters that I would like to enjoy tonight,” Cage said. “I’ll take my daughter out trick-or-treating somewhere in Santa Monica, but I am going to watch a movie where the director was actually nominated for Worst Director at the Razzies — called The Shining.”
He continued, “He directed the hell out of that movie. I’m going to watch that tonight. After I put my daughter to bed, I’m going to put on The Shining.”
Cage’s home was one of multiple residences that was affected by a large sinkhole that erupted in September, prompting local officials to declare an emergency response and led to the evacuation of 31 homes in the nearby area.
Footage taken of the scene at the time showed a large crater that had formed in the ground near the driveway of Cage’s reported home. It has since collapsed his deck, affected his driveway, and caused a temporary gas leak in the neighborhood, E! News reports.

Last month, Cage announced at New York Comic-Con that he will star in the fifth season of True Detective.
“You can only do so many movies back to back to back, and necessity is the mother of invention,” Cage told fans at his spotlight panel. “You can connect those dots, too. What do I mean by necessity? Feed the family; don’t do too many movies back to back to back. So I think I’m probably gonna do another season of television. I think I might do a season of True Detective.”
He then added, “That’s okay that I’m the first to announce that, right?”
In addition to daughter August, Cage is also dad of son Kal-El with his ex-wife Alice Kim, as well as son Weston, whom he shares with ex Christina Fulton.
