Amateur jockey Alice Procter has been taken into intensive care after a serious fall at Cartmel racecourse on Saturday. The 21-year-old underwent an operation after being rushed to a major trauma centre following the accident and is remaining under the observation of medical professionals. Procter was racing in a female riders' handicap hurdle event onboard the horse Uggy Uggy Uggy but came off and immediate medical attention was rushed to the scene.
