Nicky Henderson could not bring the headline act to Newbury on Sunday, but still ended up stealing the show with the flying mare Joyeuse. Super Saturday was supposed to be centred on Henderson's Sir Gino, but the exciting novice was prevented from running in the Game Spirit Chase after sustaining a slight injury. In his absence, 11-1 shot Master Chewy took the Grade Two prize for Nigel Twiston-Davies. But Henderson would not be outdone and Joyeuse obliterated a strong field to claim victory in the historic £100,000 William Hill Handicap Hurdle.
