When it comes to prodigal sons, returning home at the end of their careers to the place where it all began, Scott Arfield's story takes a bit of beating. His second coming in a 5-2 victory against Partick Thistle on Saturday was so dramatically perfect, so uplifting and yet at the same time so impossibly poignant that it might as well have been a movie script. It would have been gratifying enough had the 36-year-old midfielder's deadline day transfer from Bolton Wanderers to Falkirk been nothing more than an attempt to come full circle and give something back.
