Gabriel Martinelli is about to miss Arsenal's Premier League clash with Brentford on Saturday.

The 22-year-old scored in Arsenal's 6-Zero win over Sheffield United on Monday night but was pressured off within the 64th minute as a consequence of damage.

Mikel Arteta revealed after the game that the Brazil international had suffered a cut on his foot, which would be monitored this week.

Nevertheless, it appears Martinelli will probably be rested for Brentford's visit to the Emirates Stadium for Saturday's 5.30pm kick-off as he was not seen with Arsenals' squad on the morning of the sport.

Bukayo Saka, who was replaced at half time towards Sheffield United as a result of illness,was seen together with his Arsenal teammates on Saturday, as was Oleksandr Zinchenko, who has missed the Gunners' last 5 games.

When asked about Martinelli's availability throughout his press conference on Thursday, Arteta instructed that the winger would get well in time for the game towards Brentford.

'We now have some players again last Monday, then we've Martinelli and Bukayo with little issues however we are fairly constructive they will be part of that [team],' Arteta stated.

'We have now to wait and see how they do tomorrow [on Friday].'

Arteta will even be with out his first-choice goalkeeper David Raya, who's ineligible to play towards his mum or dad club Brentford because of the terms of his mortgage settlement.
